Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their client's dynamic team in Charleston, South Carolina. This pivotal role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in plumbing and HVAC design. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design department, ensuring that designs meet client-ready standards and coordinating with other disciplines for comprehensive project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Head the mechanical design department, overseeing the entire mechanical design process.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure complete design packages are ready for senior review.
  • Train the mechanical design team to address weaknesses and develop skills needed for upcoming projects.
  • Obtain a PE license within 12 months if not already licensed.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes, and ASHRAE standards, particularly 62.1.
  • Size ductwork and design air conditioning systems effectively.
  • Communicate clearly about codes, standards, and engineering principles to elevate team performance.
  • Train and mentor team members in Revit and other engineering principles.
  • Present technical capabilities effectively to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer certification required.
  • Experience with Revit is essential; familiarity with DoD work is advantageous.

Work Hours

Monday to Friday, first shift.
